Japanese Cheesecake

Cheese Cake Studio on the Back Street
During our stop at the Shin-Osaka Station, dad and I stumbled upon a little bakery which sold only Japanese Cheesecake (in different forms of course)..

Of course a trip to Japan wouldn't be complete without trying authentic Japanese Cheesecake! It was our surprise that again, one of the best would be find inside this station.

Dad and I brought the cheesecake all the way back to our hotel and had it after dinner

Since it was gonna sit for several hours on the train with us, our server was nice enough to put a little ice pack inside after we told her we were gonna take it back to Tokyo

Halleluah!
We went for the special which was their two layer Japanese Cheesecake
with a dusting of powdered sugar and edible gold
when is "too much" ever enough right?

So we've been waiting to try this every since we bought it
so please forgive the rather informal devouring if the cheesecake!
If you can see in the picture, there are two layers! Yum!

Even though it was their traditional Japanese Cheesecake, the one here in Japan is very different from the Japanese cheesecake they sell back home. Back in Manila, Japanese cheesecakes tend to have a rather chiffon-cake-like texture and are sometimes dense while the ones here in Japan are more moussé like and have a bottom layer which has the same texture as your regular cheesecake which has a rather dense and velvety consistency. Despite being different, of course both are delicious (but a little edible gold definitely wins the battle haha)
