Afternoons in Baguio mean only one thing..
a lot of eating!!
Immediately after having lunch at Ketchup Community, the family and I were just about ready to make our way to the Verandah at the country club for a nice, big cup of hot chocolate until my sister suggested we head over to Choco-late de Batirol.
I remember our past experience a few years ago when the place just opened to which unfortunately we were not happy with the hot chocolate because it wasn't the batirol we were expecting. But through the years, people continued to line up at this place that we decided maybe it was time to give it another shot.

A cup of classic batirol and a side of turon
I guess the second time was a charm since this cup of batirol certainly was different from my first. A smooth, milky, chocolate concoction filled with nutty and smokey notes of flavor.
Although it maybe something new to me since the batirol that i grew accustomed to is much thicker, richer, and bolder in chocolate flavor, Choco-late de Batirol's take on this classic drink is actually quite good as to which I now understand as to why the place is always packed.
Mom however begs to differ for she prefers the thick, creamy, batirol. I guess you just can't win them all even on the second try.
Try it for yourself and tell me how it goes..
