Kitchen

why am I only trying this now?

As my flight grows nearer, it was time for another send off dinner. This time it was just an intimate dinner with the guys who made high school bearable and memorable!

For tonight's venue, Jm suggested Kitchen. Although Kitchen has been around for several years now and is actually one of the only pioneers left in Greenbelt, it was going to be my first time trying Kitchen Filipino fusion cuisine.

A very warm, moody atmosphere.

Really liked the posh cafeteria set-up

The mint water has terrarium tendencies...

Grape Smoothie

Just sublime!

Caps and Rolls

Cabbage cups filled with sauteed veggies and topped with crispy glass noodles.

A healthy alternative to Chinese favorite, Pecking Duck wraps.

Sundried Pasta

Penne pasta mixed with Kitchen's Homemade Pesto. Finished off with a generous topping of tuyo flakes

I enjoyed this Filipino take on pesto pasta because the tuyo gives an interesting, salty-meaty flavor that one cannot get from the traditional sun dried tomato topping.

Sand Bar

Pandan flavored Rice topped with Tuna Salpicao

Another healthy take on a classic..
the tuna was nicely cooked with a moist and tender texture, and then perfectly flavored with generous amounts of garlic.

Sour Bill

Duck stewed in a rich, adobo-style broth. Served with a runny sunny-side-up egg.

I'm not a big fan of adobo, but this duck adobo is certainly comething I would crave for. The duck was wonderfully tender, with each bite beautifully infused with a sweet version of traditional adobo sauce. That sunny-side-up egg was a perfect addition in keeping the dish very Filipino Adobo like.

Four Cheese Panizza

Crisp and cheesy.. rather average tasting

but hey, whoever passed on a cheese pizza anyway?

Still can't believe after all these years, its only now that I got to try Kitchen. A nice, cozy place to enjoy well put together Filipino fusion dishes which has that sophisticated touch but still keeping its warm, Filipino decent.

Thanks Jm for recommending the place! And thanks guys for another awesome send off dinner!!
