Sinpo Woori Mandoo

After a tour of Ch'angdokkung Palace and exploring the sights and sounds of Insadong, it was time for lunch. The boys and I were really hungry since the early wake up call for the shuttle didn't give us enough time to have breakfast which meant looking for a place which served some serious grub. Ergo, Sinpo Woori Mandoo was our lunch stop for the day.

The Ch'angdokkung Palace

More stores to see in Insadong!

Eating time!

Who were we to question that! Hahaha!

Great modern space!
Also you get spectacular views of Insadong with the restaurant being on the second floor!

Chicken Teriyaki Noodles

Really like this take on Chicken Teriyaki. Since I gave up rice for lent, I was finally able to enjoy teriyaki in a different form! Who ever invented this recipe was a genius!

For Jarv: Traditional Hot Korean Noodles

As for Cato and Ejay: Chicken Mozzarella

A Korean take on Cordon Bleu. We all tried it and really like the Korean twist on this dish thanks to the tangy and zesty sauce.

Shrimp and Spinach Mandoo

Mandoo, which means dumpling, was the specialty of the house! The fresh, crisp taste of the spinach with the diced shrimp was impeccable!

Black Rice and Beef Mandoo

The dish may seem clean and simple because thats exactly what it is. Clean, Fresh, Simple!
I like the different texture the black rice gave the mandoo. It truly highlighted the flavors of the beed and the broth the dumplings were cooked in!
Simply addicting!

Since the noodles didn't quite hit the spot, Jarv ordered some beef with rice.

This dish would please any hungry buddy! The beef had a hint of sweetness and flavors which resembled that of bulgogi but milder. The veggies were a pleasant addition.

On our way our, the chief was making a fresh batch of mandoo...

Now that was lunch! Mandoo is definitely a new favorite! every dish was not only scrumptious, but they were all soo satisfying! Two Thumbs Up!
