An Ode to Car!

Sorry it took so long for me to post again. Hell week in school's a B! Imagine having it two straight weeks! =\

But now that it's over, I found something which I took during my trip last October. When I went to visit Car in SanFo, we stopped by the ultimate shopping destination two days before my flight back the Manila, that store being..TARGET! Its soo awesome how you can just find everything in Target. Clothes, gadgets, dvds, food, books, and soo much more! We could just get lost in th store rummaging through each shelf and seeing sale racks and really good buys :D

But the best thing we saw during our visit was along the wine and beverage isle! We stumbled on the rack of wines that we're under 20 dollars and was tagged as "Girls Night Out". The funniest brand of them all came from the series of wine names "The Middle Sister"

Car is really a..

Mischief Maker! hahaha!

also a "Smarty Pants"! Hahahaha :D

and sometimes..a DRAMA QUEEN! HAHAHA!

It was just funny how Car was a middle sister! I immediately just had to take pictures of her with the wines. That was definietly a fun bonding experience with my middle sister! Imagine if we also got drunk through that wine hahahaha! That would have made it more fun :D

Current Craving: Lacey's

This is something the whole house is going crazy with..

When Dad got back from the states, one of the things he brought with him was this pack of Lacey's crisp almond wafers with dark chocolate!

This is one of the best wafer snacks I've tried to date. There's something with the combination of caramelized almond wafers and dark chocolate the simply makes irresistible. You just can't have one wafer when ever you open the package.

So heavenly! :D
(The toffee bits mixed in the wafer was a pleasing surprise!)

Now I wonder how much boxes of this could fit inside a balikbayan box...Hmmm hahahaha!

Charge it!

PAY DAY! Okay...it might not make much difference since we're not earning or even working.. But on the plus side, when it's pay day, it means only one thing..SALE!

So right after class last Friday, Ranscee, Stu, Abby, Ejay and I immediately went to Greenbelt 5 to check out the Zara sale. The mission was to be able to buy as much as we can until our wallets are dry and cards melted! Hahahahahahaha! Our mistake though was that since we decided to go to the Zara sale a week after it started, there wasn't much selections to choose from. We ended up only buying one piece of clothing from Zara.

Luckily, all Ayala Malls were on sale, so we were able to buy from other stores. Surprisingly, even Adora was on sale hahahahaha!

But after a relaxing shopping "adventure", what better than topping it off with Red Mango frozen yogurt!

I got blueberries, peaches and mango
The tartness of the yogurt goes really well with the sweet blueberry preserve

Ejay and Abby

Ranscee and Stu
(fyi, NY Fries and Red Mango is not the same as Mcdonalds Fries and hot fudge sundae)

And to top it all of...

Nothing compares to the Beef Lasagna of Palms!

Now that was a mean shopping experience! Must do it again soon! :D

Till next time (and the next credit card bill haha)

Houston, we have a problem!

Remember when you were a kid, there would either be Disney movies or cartoon which revolved around the story of astronauts inside their space shuttles. I found it really amusing when the astronauts would eat their food and how their burger and water looked exactly how it would have if you would eat it here on earth. The only difference was that they would all float seperately and the astronauts would just take a bite while the food was afloat.

Of course, that's not how it really happens with food in space.

When Ranscee came back from the States, he brought home for us astronuat food which he bought in the Smithsonian museum. The packaged goodies looked exactly like how they would look when in space...which was...dehydrated. So among the goodies that we got we're two different flavors of ice cream sandwiches.

A Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla bar

and Cookies and cream

The Packets
clearly stating that their freeze-dried hahahahhaa!

Although they tasted pretty good, it just feels a bit weird eating ice cream that's not cold hahahahahaha! The flavors of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry were very prominent and tasteful, but the texture was very dry and course. It definitely took a while getting used to. That definitely was a different kind of experience. A very interesting one I might add..

Holiday Treats

I know by now everyone's trying to keep their New Year's Resolutions and are staying away from the treats everyone got over the season. But right before I join everyone and start jogging again, here are some of the really good treats my family and I had over the holidays

An Ienne's Coffee Cupcake from Ejay

That Gingerbread Man added a very festive touch

Something to keep you "warm" during the holidays,
A nice glass of Apple Martini from Camp John Hay Manor
A bit strong but what the heck, we were on vacation after all! haha

A plate of really good breakfast pastries fro Baguio Country Club
Nothing like waking up to a breakfast buffet in the club..

Now here are some things which I whipped up...

Frozen Brazo

It took a while to get the layers an proportions right
(first one I made became one big blob...)

Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse

Waiting for it to set-up inside the fridge

A thin layer of chocolate layer made all the difference
Still a work in progress..

Hope you guys enjoyed your Holidays! Time for me to bring out those running shoes..

Fuego Break

After one hectic week, Christmas break finally began! Not only can we finally rest and just lounge around not having to think about school work and stuff, but it gave us time to catch up with Christmas Shopping, simbang gabi, and a chance to really feel the holiday season.

To kick things off, what's a better way to spend the holiday vacation than heading to the beach!? So that means...."FUEGO HERE WE COME!"

After the 4:30 am wake up call and packing up the gang in the car, first stop was McDonalds.

Jarv couldn't resist trying this out

Abe really likes McDonalds Hahahaha!

When we finally got to Batangas, Terrazas turned out to be closed so we headed to the Peninsula instead.

Just bumming in the beach

We then hit the clubhouse for some grub..

I had the pan-friend Salmon Steak

The rissotto was cleverly tucked inside the greens

An individual serving of Chicken Pastel

Really good Cordon Bleu

Our lunch really beat a picnic basket filled with sandwiches on the beach hahaha!

Now that was some much needed R and R. Nothing like some sun and sand to really get you relaxed, especially when its shared with the company of good friends!

Til' the next beach trip!
