Revisiting Men Oh

Our feel good place..

aside from Eggs Benedict and other brunch food.. Ramen is our go to comfort food may it be freshly made from a Japanese hotspot, or homemade from a Korean packet.

I mean, who doesn't like ramen??

Since the day was turning to be a bit stressful, Car and I decided to have lunch at Men Oh to hopefully turn the day around..

Luckily, Men Oh had a new, extended menu with more ramen variants and appetizers for us to to try out

Takoyaki Balls

I don't know if it was just a hot skillet or if these were deep fried, but Men Oh's Takoyaki Balls have a distinct, crunchy exterior which was delicious It gave this dish a much needed texture especially since some takoyaki balls, when not cooked correctly, end up either too soft or burned. These were perfect, crisp and golden!

Miso Tonkotsu

Classic pork-bone base tonkotsu infused with miso broth filled with bamboo shoots, beans sprouts, corn, green onion, chashu pork, and ramen egg.

Despite the changes with the menu, I liked that Men Oh's base broth still maintains its rich pork-bone flavor minus the overpowering, fatty flavor that some ramen broths tend to hand.

Another thing which I surprisingly liked about this Miso Tonkotsu was the addition of corn which added a much needed break from rich ramen broths. First time I had corn in my ramen and it turned out really good!

Tokushima

Same pork-bone base but seasoned with soy sauce. bamboo shoots, green onions, ramen egg, chashu pork, and stir-fried pork belly complete this protein overloaded ramen.

Men Oh's Ramen egg

Well cooked and beautifully seasoned to have that salty yet sweet taste

When in doubt, Ramen always does it!!
