Straight from school, Jarv and I headed over to Eastwood for the advance screening of the installment of the Harry Potter franchise. (there goes our childhood) While waiting for 9pm, Jarv, Mon, Abby, and I tried Kogi Bulgogi in Eastwood Mall to get a dose of Korean cuisine since it been quite a while since our last Korean Adventure. No d.i.y. this time though :(
Jarv's Salmon Skin Roll
I know everyone's accustomed Japanese Fusion nowadays but this is a must try!
The crunch from the Salmon Skin gave the roll a new dimension but still giving it the Salmon Taste a salmon roll would normally have.
Salmon Carpacio
Salmon Strips marinated in Lemon and Olive Oil
Light, Simple, Crisp, Amazing!
Sam Gyup Sal
Grilled Pork Belly Strips
Although the texture of the strips were excellent, the dish lacked a bit of flavor.
Also, its the first time I had Sam Gyup Sal ala carte and I must say,
its so much better to enjoy the dish when cooking it in front of you.
All in all, Kogi is a good stop if you're in the mood for some fast Korean fusion cuisine. The Sam Gyup Sal may have been a let down, but all the other dishes that we ordered and other items on the menu were very promising. Maybe next time I'll give them bibimbap! Really Excited to try that one since they serve it in the classic hot stone bowls in which the authentic bibimbap is supposed to be served in!
