Oktoberfest 2013

Need I say more?

Since it is October.. there's nothing more that a foodie looks forward to but to go enjoy festivities of Oktoberfest! Luckily, I knew 4 foodies who shared the same excitement so we cleared our Saturday to check out the Oktoberfest over at Redwood City.

First Pint of the day..

Some German sounding dark beer whose name I couldn't pronounce. All I remember was that is was good lol

and the second pint..

umm..it was something light lol

maybe we should get some food..

Old Fashioned Pretzel

While waiting in line over at Z Sausage which we assumed was the best due to the line, we were getting too hungry and opted to buy a pretzel over at the stall beside us. Let's just say there was a reason there was no line for pretzels. But hey, it's sustenance lol!

Brat with Curry Ketchup and Curry Powder from Z Sausage

It was a good sausage in a bun... but didn't understand the mile long line for it though. It was just okay in my opinion.

Kielbasa from Harry's Haufbrau

Since we weren't satisfied with Z Sausage, we decided to give Harry's Haufbrau a try and boy was I surprised. Amazing Kielbasa topped with kraut, chunky potato salad, and mustard. This was so much better than Z Sausage that I was surprised no one was lining up for this.. lucky for us, we could order more without any hassle haha!

Potato Pancake from Whole Foods

To cleanse the palette, we headed over to the Whole Foods stall to try this fried pancake made of potatoes, onions, squash, and carrots which was then topped with apple sauce and cream.

German Chocolate Cake from Cafe La Tartine

Since our palettes were now too clean, we were suddenly in the mood for something sweet. Luckily Cafe La Tartine was just around the corner and had one of the most amazing German Chocolate Cakes I've ever had. I'm not a big fan of German Chocolate Cake but Cafe La Tartine did a great job in keeping a good balance between the chocolate and coconut and giving the cake an overall moist, fudgy consistency.

That's about if for Oktoberfest 2013 folks. There may have been a couple of bumps along the way, but it was nothing a pint of beer couldn't fix lol!
