as the box says.. it's "The Cake of the World"!
but is it?
I've been meaning to try these ever since French Baker launched therm last December however they would always be sold out at our local French Baker Branch which meant they must have been a hit.
Several months later, mom surprised us when we got home from work and she was able to buy us a box of Hokkaido cake!

Angelic little sponge cakes
Actually a partnership between Anchor Cream and Anchor butter, these light and delicate sponge cakes are filled with whipped Anchor Cream which is also light and refreshing to taste. I really liked how the texture and consistency of the cakes are similar to Japanese cheesecake which is just how I imagined it to be. I would have preferred though for the whipped cream filling to have a more distinct flavour such as an infusion of vanilla or lemon as to give the cake a little bit more personality rather than just tasting like milk.
I was told though that these cakes are meant to be enjoyed with a side of fresh fruit which I think would really help in enhancing the flavours that I was looking for. Will definitely try that next time.
With its light and refreshing taste mixed with its versatility to various toppings and sidings that could make ones own favourite cake, French Baker's Hokkaido Cake does deserve its title of being "Cake of the World"
I would have preferred worldly/highly adaptable cake but thats just me haha!
