National Fettuccine Alfredo Day

A holiday dedicated to pasta... of course we're going to celebrate that! lol

As a was checking emails in the morning and letting the news just play in the background.. 4 words immediately struck me.. NATIONAL FETTUCCINE ALFREDO DAY.

Drop everything for we are definitely celerbating this holiday.. off to the grocery we go and buy ingredients for dinner. 

FETTUCCINE ALFEDO 

INGREDIENTS:

Half a pound dried Fettuccine
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup butter

1 shallot, minced

1 clove of garlic

1 quart cream

1 cup grated Parmigiano Regiano

Zest of 1 Lemon

Salt and Pepper to taste

Chopped Parsley for garnish


METHOD:

-cook pasta per package instructions. Set aside.
 
 -place olive oil and butter in a pan set to medium high heat






 -once the butter has melted, add in the minced shallot and garlic.

Let the shallots sweat and the garlic slightly brown






 -once the shallots are translucent, add in the cream

Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes or until the cream has slightly thickened




 -add in the cheese






 -followed by the lemon zest






 -toss in the pasta






and dinner is served!

Best paired with a side of sauteed garlic shrimp.
