Garlic Festival 2015

Finally made it



After years of attempts, I finally made it to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Armed with a clean palette and an empty stomach, I was ready to take on the scorching sun and devour pungent garlicky goodness.









Crab Garlic Fries!!

Beer-Battered Fries smothered in Garlic Aioli and Crab.

The beer-battered fried were already perfect on their own but of course we gotta take it over the top and throw in some more garlic flavor with the aioli and decadence brought by the crab.





Zesty Lime Calamari

Refreshing flavors with just the right amount of garlic and zing to it. I did need a little salt for me though.





Smoked Turkey Leg

Although not really garlicky, one can never pass on turkey leg especially if its this good!





and for my cousins creation..

Garlic fried bananas on top of pecan praline garlic vanilla ice cream. Served on top of a ripened cantaloupe.

Each sold separately, and although interesting, they were also best enjoyed separately lol.

I did really enjoy the pecan praline garlic vanilla ice cream. the sweet, roasted garlic flavor actually highlights the vanilla and cuts through the richness of the ice cream. 






Free Garlic Ice Cream

Different from the pecan praline, this vendors take on the garlic ice cream was much more refreshing, almost bordering sorbet like. Perfect for the summer heat!!





Stuffed Mushrooms

Portobello mushrooms stuffed with dangerously garlicky cheese and herb stuffing.

Sinfully delicious yet three of these babies would send you overboard.







So we came and conquered the 2015 Gilroy Garlic Festival. Although there were a lot more dishes that we wanted to try, we tried out best to go easy and stick with the Garlic Festival musts. Next years trip would be a whole new ball game!
