Crystal Jade Harbour City

Time for lunch!

After a very succesful morning shopping excursion, it was finally time for lunch since our wallets our bellies have gone thin. Passing by Crystal Jade in Harbour City Center, we decided to see if this branch was similar to what we have back home.

Complimentary Hot Tea 

the flavours were to earthy for my taste so had to request for iced water instead.

Beef La Mian 

The Chinese take on ramen

 La Mian has a thicker, richer, full bodied broth with very bold flavours and aromatics that is very different from the clean, minimalist approach of Japanese ramen. 

A very good dish with tender braised beef shanks, La Mian is something I would really share with one or two people unlike ramen because the flavours are to bold for my taste. Its a perfect side dish for me but definitely not something I would eat as my main.

Fresh Beancurd topped with Floss

The sweet and tangy sauce went perfectly with the silky smooth fresh beancurd. The floss added just the right dimension to the texture without distracting from the fresh beancurd.

Sauteed Shrimp with Salted Egg Yolk

The only word that could explain this is..AMAZING!!

Assorted Vegetable wrapped in deep fried beancurd skin

A very interesting and crispy dish which everyone enjoyed. I found it to be like a fancier, Chinese take on Filipino fried vegetable lumpia haha

Spare Rib in Zhen Jiang Style

The key to this dish is the right use of Zhenjiang Vinegar which sometimes could be a little bit overpowering but Crystal Jade was able to do beautifully.

Pan Fried Pork Dumpling

If burgers have sliders, Pork buns had pan fried pork dumplings as their mini, bite-sized variant.

Overall, the choices and taste of the dishes prepared by Crystal Jade Harbour City are quite similar to the branch we already have back home with just some slight differences here and there. If ever you have already tried Crystal Jade back in Manila, it is still good to give their branch in Harbour City a try because the experience is still quite different.
