PS. Cafe

 Comfort food at its finest!

After a "successful" day in Orchard Road, Pam made a reservation at a must-see institution in Singapore, PS Cafe.

Right on top of Dempsey Hill, PS Cafe is a modern yet very homey lounge that is very popular to both locals and expats. Despite having very modern, and minimalist interiors, PS. Cafe has a very warm vibe that just invites you in. The place is surrounded by floor to ceilings windows that gives a very romantic view of the lush greenery outside, but I heard the views are also breathtaking during brunch.

We were lucky to get one of the last remaining vacant tables..make sure to make a reservation!

 They really thought of everything!

Since Dempsey Hill is quite a walk from other, more famous establishments, PS. Cafe suggests booking a cab after enjoying your meal.

 Truffle Shoestring Fries
A MUST when visiting PS Cafe

Thinly cut fries, perfectly fried and then drenched in truffle oil. Topped off with parsley and parmesan cheese. Simple but surprisingly addicting! The essence and aroma of the truffle oil makes an already irresistable (and sinful) snack even more addicting. This mountain of fries simply vanished at our table.

And we thought we were bad, but a diner from another table ordered just this and finished it all by herself in a matter of seconds. We felt better afterward :))

Chicken Rossa Penne

Huge slices of grilled chicken, smoked bacon, spinach, wild mushrooms, and penne pasta are tossed together in a garlic tomato cream sauce. Topped off with shavings of Parmegiano.

The BEST "comfort-food" pasta dish! Imagine those lazy Saturdays where you just stay in, whip up a bowl of pasta with all the contents from the fridge, and then curl up on the couch in front of the tv. This dish gives you that same warm feeling of satisfaction. It's that simple, comfy, uncomplicated type of dish that you would end up craving for.

and then it was time for dessert!

 Dark Chocolate Banana Cheesecake

It was a hard call to make especially with all the delicious cakes that immediately greet you by the door, but I think I made a really good decision with this one. The cheesecake was rich and velvety with small chunks of ripe bananas mixed in giving the cake its unique flavor. The dark-chocolate help balanced the tangy, sweet notes of the cheesecake and also giving it that additional oomph.

and a cup of Hot White Valrhona Chocolate

Unlike milk chocolate, white chocolate gave this drink a lighter, milder taste, making it more smooth and milky compared to the traditional hot chocolate.

PS. Cafe really knows how to do comfort-food for which they have a talent of making simple, uncomplicated dishes with just the right amount of whimsical in them. Not matter how hard you try, there is something with that genius simplicity which makes it hard to replicate. Definitely gonna come back for more!!
