Kouraku

 The epitome of Japanese Sushi!

For out last night in Tokyo, Dad's business partners treated us for a traditional sushi dinner. All along I thought I was already having traditional sushi during our entire stay in Japan but boy does this place take it to a whole other level! Located in a business district, Kourako is a very simple a minimalist sushi house nestled inside a discreet office building.

Cold Sake
The bottle design was simply genius!

It seems a rather common to sit by the bar and watch sushi be made in front of you..
but this black granite counter top was where the magic happens :D

Our chefs for the evening :D

Each sushi was hand made one at a time and served immediately to us.
Only after you have finished your first serving will the chefs make the next sushi
Truly an art!

First was the Shime Saba served with pickled ginger
 TORO!
The melt-in-your-mouth, buttery and tender sensation was just too amazing
that I just had to ask if I could have another one!
Thankfully the chefs were now my friends and they made me another one hehe

Forgive me if I wasn't able to take pictures of all the other sushi that we had because I was just too amazed with the experience and was just fascinated every time they made another one. Every piece of sushi was made delicately and with such art and attention to detail that one couldn't wait to try each and every single sushi! Truly an art form! And I would've never guessed to have such an amazing dining experience inside this office building. A true hidden gem if I could say so myself!

Can't wait to visit Japan again and visit my two new friends and see them work their magic!
