Sushi Dinner
After getting back from Osaka, dad and I we're a bit exhausted from the trip and just wanter to try out one of the restaurants near our hotel. With tons of people constantly going in and out of the place, we figured Sharaku was worth a try.
Dad opted for a Chirashi platter
scattered slices of different sashimi served with a side of rice and pickled ginger
I opted for what the call "Ultimate Sushi Roll"
Basically it had all of the top choice sashimi slices in just one roll!
From what I remember, the roll had toro, squid, uni, and shake.
But of course the roll had so much more!
Dad kept insisting that I get some of his chirashi, but even if my order only had 4 slices, it was enough to keep me full till dinner tomorrow! What I like best about authentic Japanese sushi rolls is that rice is simply used as a binder, leaving the seafood to be truly highlighted with all its glory! By the way, when you come and visit Japan (which you must) don't be intimidated by the old saying the sushi here is like gold because a lot or if not most of the sushi now being served are considerably priced! So go indulge until your hearts content!
