Chicken & Beer

a sucker for Korean chicken!!

Although I enjoy cooking Korean dishes at home, one particular dish that I never tried to recreate at home are Korean Chicken Wings since the deep frier still intimidates me. So when I found out the a new Korean Chicken place open right outside our village, I immediately called up my friends for some awesome company to go with me as a try out what Chicken & Beer has to offer.

Deep fried salted noodles while we wait..
a surprisingly addicting snack

A memo tree which is common to all Korean hangout places..
with the place being new, we could luckily still see the branches of the tree haha

Admire the attention to detail!
Even the sofa cushions are covered with monogrammed fabrics of the Chicken & Beer logo

Spicy Tteokbokki
A stew of rice and fish cakes simmered in a spicy broth infused with gochujang

Boy have I missed this! I must say Chicken & Beer got the spice level just right!

Chili Fries

Adding an American flare to the menu, one can never go wrong with the pairing of fries, bacon, cheese and sour cream!

and for the wings..
Honey Chicken

Classic deep fried wings drenched with a sweet sauce made with Korean rice syrup, peanuts, and green peppers. A sweet take on chicken wings which exemplifies as somewhat maple syrup flavor. This was a perfect accompaniment for the spicy orders of chicken wings that we had since the syrup kinda helped soothe the palette.

Hot Spicy Chicken

Considered the spiciest variant, the Hot Spicy Chicken was drenched was a gochujang based barbecue sauce which gave the wings a little fruity, a little tang-- but with a whole lot of spice and heat!!

Paris Chicken

a much more mellow, spicy chicken wing variant, the Paris Chicken boasts of a sweet and spicy soy-based barbecue sauce which was definitely different from the flavors of the Hot Spicy Chicken which possessed much more fruity notes. Just be careful with the chopped chilies on top because they are deadly!

I must admit, Chicken & Beer has become my new favorite Korean chicken wing place. From the interiors which mimics the modern ruggedness of popular hangouts in Seoul, to the vast offering of the menu which offers other Korean specialties. Chicken & Beer is definitely a place worth coming back to over and over again!
