Dinner at Antonio's

Since we've covered Breakfast.. Now its time for dinner.

As frequent diners of Breakfast at Antonio's, my siblings and I got to thinking that maybe its about time for us to head over to the original Antonio's restaurant for dinner. Luckily we found the perfect opportunity this holiday season since everyone was going to be home. Not only that, but we decided it would be our celebratory dinner in honor of our parents wedding anniversary.

A very warm and homey vibe greets you upon entering.

Strawberry and Balsamic Smoothie

Really liked the fresh strawberries kicked up a notch by the acidic zing of the balsamic.

Arugula and Mesclun Greens with Sun-dried tomatos, Gorgonzola, and Candied Walnuts.

Excellent play of salty-sweet flavors mixed with crisp, organic textures.

These dinner roles were very addicting!

Tomato broth

A translucent, broth based soup with just a tint of tomato juice. Very light yet full of flavor, this soup was really good to get your appetite going but not filling you up.

Beef Plancha topped with Seared Foie Gras, a side of Gratin Potato and Port Wine Sauce

Perfectly medium flank topped with crisp, seared foie gras that was still very soft on the inside. Beautiful play of textures and was rounded up well by the sweet-tanginess of the port wine sauce.

You can never go wrong with steak and foie gras combination and this was executed superbly!

Since we love our sweets, here are our selections of desserts..

Maracaibo Chocolate Terrine with Double Cream and Roasted Pistachio

A very smooth, delicate, chilled chocolate concoction that melted in your mouth. Accentuated with the crunch and subtle flavor of the pistachio.

Antonio's Rum Raisin Ice Cream served on Almond Meringue Basket

This ice cream was not for the weak of heart since it was very rich and was exploding with rum flavor. Really enjoyed it together with the crunch brought by the meringue.

Flourless Chocolate Cake

A petit, dense sticky date pudding made even more sinful by the cream and caramel glazed served with it. I could have a couple more of this please!!

Dark Chocolate Souffle with Cardamom Creme Anglaise

A very light, airy chocolate souffle made special by the Cardamom Creme Anglaise. I actually really enjoyed the floral notes that the Creme Anglaise had against the chocolate souffle.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

And thanks to Antonio's for the amazing dinner and ambiance. There is definitely something more to Antonio's than just breakfast lol.
