Mango Tree

Lets get this weekend started shall we!

Since my sister Sherrie and my Chinese sister Ketz would be leaving for the US this weekend for an all girl vacation (which means shopping haha) I decided to meet up with them have a small Bon Voyage dinner for them over at Mango Tree.

The Godfather
Scotch, Whisky, and Amaretto on the rocks

Yum Som O
A fresh and zest pomelo salad topped with grilled prawns and and grated coconut.

Tom Yum Goong

Traditional Thai Hot and Sour Soup infused with Lemongrass, Lime, and Red Chillies then topped of with prawns. The soups actually had a sweet, tamarind-like base but definitely packed a mean punch at the end. Very spicy indeed!

Panang Gai

Chicken Filler in Panang Curry which is considered the mildest form of Thai Curry. Really liked how Mango Tree is very generous with their servings since this dish was overloaded with chicken. Plus points too for presentation.

Pad Thai Goong

Traditional Thai Stir Fried Noodles with Tiger Prawns.
The noodles really had the authentic Thai Stir Fry flavor however the dish did seem a bit dry. Was amazed though by the presentation with the egg net on top!

After Dinner Drinks

Ketz had the Pick Me Up which was a Bailey's and espresso blended cocktail served just like a cup of coffee. I forgot the name of my cocktail but it was Mango Tree's take on a Mint Mojito but infused with red chillies.

Mango Tree may have been open for quite some time now and I really regret that I only got to try their amazing dishes now. They really now how to play with traditional Thai flavors and present them in a fun, modern way.

Cheers to kicking of the weekend with good food and great friends at Mango Tree!
