Lugang Cafe

A perfect ending for an adventure-filled day

From exploring Manila Oceanpark, to a movie and a little bit of shopping with my sis and Ate Ketz (my Chinese ate haha); we ended our day by treating ourselves at the new branch of Lugang Cafe in MOA.

Despite Lugang being open in Greenhills for quite some time now, I never really got to try them until now so this was really exciting for me since I'm a sucker for Xiao Long Bao.

Awesome interiors!
Very classy and slightly minimalist
not your typical dimsum restaurant..

Coke with Kumquat
An even more refreshing take on Coke!
A blend of coke and sweetened chinese citrus
it might be a little to sweet for some but I really liked it!

First Course: Xiao Long Bao!
Lugang offers a wide array of xiao long bao variants but since we wanted to try alot of other things on the menu, we opted to stick with their best sellers..

Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao
The best I've tried in Manila so far!

What sets this apart from the others is the perfectly crafter wrapper which was paper thin but sturdy enough to hold all the goodness in without tearing. Also, this was the first Xiao Long Bao that I have tried whose soup didn't dry out even when it was already cold.. Definitely a new favorite!!

Steamed Angled Loofah with Shrimp Xiao Long Bao

Or in other words.. Okra with shrimp.. This was a pleasant surprise! The crunch from the angled loofah blended well with the crisp and subtle flavors of the shrimp making this Xiao Long Bao taste fresh and light. A must try as well!

Time to dig in!

Deep fried baby oysters topped with deep fried basil

Not only were the oysters good as is..but the dipping salt had a floral, aromatic flavor that's to die for!!

Szechuan Dan Dan Noodles with Peanut Sauce

Time for some carbs! One can't go wrong with rice noodles and peanut sauce!
a favorite combination of mine, and this take by Lugang was perfect!

Pork and String beans
Simple but special!

And still we were not satisfied haha
Dong Bo Pork Belly with Steamed Buns!

Foodgasmic! An amazing version on the usual Pata Tim
Imagine.. the delicious flavors of Pata Tim, made even more spectacular by using Pork Belly

Amazing!! (and oh so deadly haha)

I must note that not only was this delicious, but this dish is also very affordable just like the other items on the menu. For only Php320, this was definitely a treat both for the tummy and the wallet!

and for dessert
Mango Flavored Shave Ice

This was really good too..however I was too full to enjoy this haha

Now in some serious food coma!
Just go try Lugang! Enough said... *burp*
