Volante

a meat-less Italian Lunch

2nd Day in Baguio! With Good Friday being a no-meat-day, the family and I strictly observed the rule and scouted Baguio for some meat-less grub. With some new establishments in Camp John Hay, we decided to try out Volante. Already a famous Baguio restaurant located along Session Road, they recently opened their new branch right inside Camp John Hay

Strawberry Milkshake
Not to milky and not to sweet!
Could use a little bit more strawberries but I still found it pretty good

Pasta Putanesca
Their take on a classic Italian dish was very promising however it seemed the pasta was a bit to al dente for my taste and was not drained out well leaving the plate very watery.. could be better!

Open Faced Salmon Sandwich
The best part of this meal!
Smoked slamon prepared carpaccio style with lemon and olive oil topped with white onions

I grew particularly fond of this dish!
Simple but very delicious!
Would definitely come back for this..

Overall, our meal was good and pleasant! Despite the pasta being a little bit overlooked, the open-faced salmon sandwich was quite excellent. I would certainly give Volante another shot
(maybe on a day when I could eat meat!)

Next time you're in Baguio..
Check out Volante and other new attractions
at the new Camp John Hay Baguio Ayala Technohub!

Really great complex with interesting finds from R.O.X and more..
