Highlands Coffee

 Finally something new to try!

A couple of weeks ago, Highlands Coffee, an import from Vietnam, opened its doors just one block away from our office. So during a slow day at the office, a bunch of us headed over to Highlands Coffee to get our afternoon coffee fix.

Was immediately greeted by the chiller filled with sweet treats!

Highlands Coffee offers free wifi for every purchase of coffee

But to take things further, in case you left you smart phone or tablet on your desk at the office, Highlands Coffee got you covered by having tables equipped with android tablets!

Hot Vietnamese Coffee with Condensed Milk

Vietnamese coffee uses a unique coffee brewing technique where the coffee is directly dripped onto your cup which is initially filled with a tablespoon or two of condensed milk. Once the filter is completely clear of water, it means your coffee brewing is done.

 Right after brewing

Stir the coffee to incorporate the condensed milk.

The result is a very rich, sweet, and very strong coffee that would really wake you up!
Its like coffee on steroids!

Imagine an espresso shot mixed with equal parts of condensed milk. I was expecting something like Kopi Roti's proportion of coffee and condensed milk which had 3 parts coffee 1 part condensed milk. Then again Kopi Roti is Singaporean while Highlands Coffee is Vietnamese. I mean I like strong coffee but this was just to strong and sweet tasting for my taste..

And of course a sampler of their desserts.

I really liked how all of their desserts had a very controlled levels of sweetness which made them compliment very well with the extra-sweet Vietnamese coffee. The cheesecake is a must try for its very light, delicate texture!

Coffee break's over.. now back to work (with two eyes wide open)
