Or in other words.. a lazy man's caramel apple!
After finishing the sumptuous dinner Tita Rosie prepared for us, we got to talking about something sweet.. which led to something sweet and salty.. which then led to something Lexie's dad used to do for them which was making a caramel dip for apple slices instead of coating on whole apple with caramel.
Luckily the pantry was fully stocked so we were able to recreate this rather interesting caramel dip in just a few minutes.
Surprisingly easy, all you had to do was melt some cream cheese, caramel, and chocolate chips in separate bowls. Simply assemble the dip by topping the melted cream cheese with the caramel and then followed by the chocolate sauce. Add some chopped walnuts for some added crunch and then start dipping!
and there it is.. a deconstructed caramel apple!!
Thanks Lexie (and Lexie's dad) for this brilliant idea!
