Shrimp and Chorizo

 Friday night means tapas night!

For a Friday night in, my sister joined me to have tapas night. But instead of just having just cheese and crackers, I still wanted to make something hearty, satisfying, and cooked lol. Ergo, Shrimp and Chorizo came about.

Shrimp and Chorizo

INGREDIENTS:

10 pieces of fresh shrimp
(skinned and de-veined but still with the heads intact)

2 pieces chorizo

 4 cloves of garlic, minced

Half an onion, minced

Olive Oil for sauteeing

1 tablespoon tomato paste

Splash of white wine

Salt and Pepper

PROCEDURE:
-slice the chorizo into bite-sized pieces

 -saute your garlic and onions

 -add in the chorizo

-cook for about 10 minutes or until the chorizo has rendered its fat

 -add in the shrimp

 -followed by the tomato paste

-and of course the wine to deglaze the pan

Time to open a bottle of wine!!

A perfect pairing of flavors. The sweet, light flavors of the shrimp against the smokey, peppery taste of the chorizo. Something hearty and satisfying to go with wine and some cheese and crackers.
