Sunday Lunch in Myeondong
Being given the day off for our first Sunday here in Korea, us kids decided to meet up and enjoy the latest offerings of Myeondong together.
After a quick shopping lap, we headed over to Din Tai Fung for lunch
3 orders of Xiao Long Bao and 1 order of Glutinously Fried Pork with sweet and sour sauce
before dwelling into the Xiao Long Bao...
I must say that the Glutinously Fried Pork was just aammaazzing!!
Imagine, instead of the usual flour and batter coating.. Din Tai Fung used mashed glutenous rice to coat the pork making a crispy yet soft exterior that kept the pork very moist.
There was something with the initial crunchy and then the chewy consistency of the coating
added with the very tender pork and tangy sauce that was just...mind blowing!
Just pure goodness!!
*from my research..this particular version of sweet and sour pork is only available in Din Tai Fung Korea
now giving me more excuse to go back to Myeongdong!
Xiao Long Bao
Heavenly!!
Din Tai Fung's Xiao Long Bao is truly the best I've ever tasted!!
The wrapper was very thin and delicate but sturdy enough not to tear..
and the meat filling had its own unique flavor that is incomparable to other Xiao Long Bao's i've tried..
heavenly..divine.. delicious..can't think of anymore words..
My mouth still waters now just thinking about these two that
Now I can't wait to try out the other offerings of Din Tai Fung Myeongondong
Time to search the internet for flights back to Korea!!
