Insadong Nights

Ssamzeigil

After that long trip from Seoraksan, I opted to head home to drop of my stuff and chill for a bit before meeting the group again in Insadong for dinner and a little but of sightseeing (meaning shopping)

I've always loved Insadong for its cultural feel. Even if in esssence it is a shopping district, I can spend hours just browsing through traditional Korean goods such as fans, hanboks, scarves, stationary, and what not. Not to mention that Insadong looks whimsical at night!

Inside Ssamzeigil

Ssamzegeil is a mini shopping mall along the street of Insadong.
Here you can find various cultural finds and a lot of one of a kind fashion and art pieces.
I just love walking around Ssamzegeil and watch people stroll as well as admiring the various "art work" on the wall..

My favorite wall graphite that night

Of course a visit to Insadong is not complete without street food

Kkultarae is a Korean dessert made of stringy maltose and honey mixture filled with a sweet nit filling
Not only are these little suckers amazing as is..but the spectacle of buying them is actually awesome as the vendors put on a fun filled show for us customers.. You definitely should experience it for yourselves when in Seoul.

After a quick stroll of Insadong,
our group headed over to this restaurant just a few steps away from the metro station

The restaurants entry way..
you can see this on your left as you are entering Insadong

For dinner..Bulgogi Jungol

Bulgogi Jungol (stew) is a popular Korean dish which is simply another variation to serving Korean Barbeque. Here, instead of just grilling Bulgogi and eating it with rice or wrapped in letter cups, The marinated meat is cooked in a clear broth and combined with noodles, vegetables, and tofu!

Bulgogi Jungol would definitely hit the spot!
Warm, tasty, and comforting.. this dish is something you'd just want to eat at home on a rainy day...

And the night goes on!
