National Assembly and War Memorial

National Assembly of South Korea

A few snippets of our visit to the National Assembly and War Memorial

The UN Art Installation at the War Memorial

The supposed "bomb" being dropped is made of army dog tags
I assume symbolizing the soldiers who were part of the war (?!)

Flying High

The "Situation Room" inside a ship

Korea's Warrior of the Future
Looks like G.I. Joe mixed with a little bit of Iron Man

The Main Pavilion of the War Memorial

For dinner, we went to the nearby business district by War Memorial
where we found this small "fast food" joint which is turn out to be a very popular chain
in Korea for students and office workers for they serve traditional Korean dishes
at very affordable prices

The chain is also popular for being "on-the-go" and that customers usually just order take-out
which explained why the place was not designed to have chairs and tables..
luckily the servers were very kind to accomodate us and provide us with a table and a few chairs :D

I ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap

Dolsot Bibimbap has the same ingredients as the bibimbap we usually have
the only difference is that this is served in a traditional hot pot with raw egg on top

Was very happy to finally get to try this and boy was I not disappointed!

The Banchan served with my bibimbap
had a surprising addition of spam!
Anything is better with spam!

Tuna Kimbap for everyone!

Korean "fast food" certainly has a different meaning!
One can eat Korean fast food all day without feeling so guilty (and bloated)
