Garosugil

just a little bit more shopping..and of course eating!

Its a known fact that Gangnam is considered to be the expensive district of Seoul
and that Apgujeong and Cheongdam-dong is Korea's answer to Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive

Of course our group would never pass on a chance to do some retail therapy!
But rather than going to Apgujeong and Cheongdam-dong, our tour guide told us that we might want to head over to Garosugil instead because not only is it also a shopper's district, but the area has a more whimsical charm than the other two main shopping districts within the area

and boy was I thankful that she took us to Garosugil!
with its name literally meaning "Tree-lined",
Garosugil isn't just a fancy shopping haven, but a very charming area to just take a stroll in and admire gorgeous scenery.

I could spend an entire here just walking, window shopping, sipping coffee and one of the trendy coffe shops, and also people-watching (the easiest way to find the lastest fashion trends in Korea! No need to buy a magazine!)

What I also admire about Garosugil is that despite it being known as an expensive, high end shopping area, the place is filled with a lot of Korean designer and labels.

I mean they're still pretty pricey, but what I loved about Garosugil is that you get to shop without feeling you're in the usual luxury street filled with only designer labels you find in duty free stores.

Shopping again...but all we're gifts for loved ones
(and just one bag for me haha)

Just off the second corner from Garosugil,
the group and I went inside this little restaurant to have some Kimchi Jjigae

The place is filled with pot covers signed by popular Korean Stars
such as U-kiss and BigBang

If its good enough for them then it must be a really good place to try!

Kimchi Jjigae!

A Kimchi Stew traditional mixed with tofu, scallions, and minced pork
A really spicy and delicious treat!!

I really regret not remembering the name of this place..but now that gives me an excuse to go back to Korea and trace my steps back to this place :D
