Larchmont Bungalow

Family Brunching

I said it before and I'll say it again, there's no better way to spend a Sunday morning but by brunching with family.

So before we head back up to San Francisco after our awesome stay in Los Angeles, we just had to have brunch with our cousins who are based here in Southern Cali.

And Larchmont Bungalow seemed to be the perfect backdrop for this family fun day.

A cozy little brunch nook

Really liked the refreshments table!

We were lucky to have arrived just in time before the lines started

Lobster Crab Cake

Thick lobster crab cakes served with spinach, 2 poached eggs, and hollindaise sauce.

Although promising, I actually felt that this take on eggs benedict was a bit..blah. Im not sure if it was the sauce or the actual crab cake that needed more flavor or seasoning, but the dish just wasn't as amazing as it looked on the menu...

Red and Blue Velvet Pancakes

Moist and fluffy pancakes cooked cup-style and then filled and smothered with a rich, velvety cream cheese frosting. My favorite dish during brunch!

The cream cheese frosting had the perfect tart and sweet flavor that did not over power the pancake or make the pancake taste like a frosted cupcake. Sweet and subtle, the frosting still allowed you the enjoy the pancake with a drizzle of maple syrup.

LB French Toast

Nutella and Plantain stuffed french toast served with toasted hazelnuts.

A really good, classic combination of nutella and banana. I just wished the french toast was soaked more in the batter because the center of the bread was a bit dry...

Always a pleasure catching up with this bunch!
