Brio

In the mood for Tuscan in Kansas

After spending the day out and about at the plaza and spending more money than I should be at J.Crew and Sur La Table, Car was finally off work and was able to meet me for dinner at Brio.

Although it may not be a restaurant unique to Kansas, with the strong recommendations for Car's colleagues, we decided to give it a try anyway.

Bistecca Insalata

Large wedge of lettuce topped with gorgonzola, bacon, Roma tomatoes, and a creamy parmesan dressing.

Lobster Bisque

A thick, creamy lobster soup with a hint of sherry and topped with shrimp.

Filetto Di Romano

A 5 oz. fillet grilled to a perfect medium and served with roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, and Romano crusted tomatoes

that Romano crusted tomato which I found below the steak

As a sucker for tomatoes, I really liked this spin on tomatoes. Its like having tomato fritters/tomato tots lol!

And a mini cup of creme brulee for dessert!

A glorious three course meal and another wonderful evening catching up with my sister. Brio definitely has a beautifully curated menu and magnificently flavored dishes that was well worth the try and even to go back for. It may not be uniquely Kansas, it still was a memorable dining experience.

Cheers to another night Kansas!
