Paris Baguette Palo Alto

A little piece of Seoul just a couple of minutes away

Taking a break from cronut making, my cousin's and I decided to check out Paris Baguette in Palo Alto to try out their "Croissant Donut" just so that we have an idea as to how a cronut could possibly taste like when proffesionally done.

Although I was excited to try out the croissant donut, I was more excited to actually get to visit Paris Baguette. Although far different from the Paris Baguette that I would visit on the way to school back when I lived in Seoul in which the store had a grab-and-go set up, the Paris Baguette had a very modern, chic cafe set up which is really an enticing place to hangout it.

Now back to what we came for.. the Croissant Donut!!

Although the cronut craze has been going around for quite a while now back in the Philippines and of course New York, the cronut hasn't really established itself her in California which is actually good for us since there was still a tray full of "Croissant Donut" when we arrive at the cafe.

Look at those huge babies!

A large, multi-layered, pillowy donut filled with rich pasty cream with a subtle hint of vanilla.

Paris Baguette's croissant donut tasted like a very pillow donut dough that was rolled out and folded mutiple times to create delicate, puffed-up layers reminiscent of a croissant. But unlike a croissant which is more flaky and has thinner crumbs, the croissant donut stayed more intact and delicate just like a donut making the croissant donut lean towards more of a donut than a croissant. Now we know..

Or do we? I wonder how Dominique Ansel's version tastes like?

Nevertheless, Paris Baguette's version was good enough for us as you can see lol

Another day, another cronut!
