Falafel Etc.

Joining in the fun of the Middle Eastern Fair.. Sort of..

Since the whole town seemed to be hosting several Middle Eastern Fair, my cousins and I decided to check them out. Unfortunately, it seems to whole town had the same idea so all of the venues were packed with people. Of course this meant that it was impossible to buy food since all the food stalls had lines that were a mile long.

Not to be discouraged from celebrating the Middle Eastern Festivities, we opted to have our own celebration in a much more convenient location. Ergo, Falafel Etc.

Falafel Gyro

Crispy, deep fried patties made of chick peas. Served with the usual gyro veggies nestled inside a warm, toasted flat bread.

Being my first time to try falafel, I must say that I was hesitant at the beginning since I'm a carnivore, so the idea of a meatless gyro just seemed a bit weird. But now I have to say that falafel is actually pretty good. I really liked the crispy, golden exterior of each patty with a full, meaty texture on the inside.

It may not be meat, but falafel is one very satisfying meal without feeling too guilty afterwards.
