Pauly's Famous Franks and Fries

A really good contender!

Pink's has really set a pretty high standard for us now in terms of hotdog sandwiches. But since it would take about a 4 hour car ride to get to Los Angeles, the search for the next best thing has (unofficially) begun. Pauly, you're up..

Cali Fresh

Frank topped with Alfalfa Sprouts, Avocado, Cucumber, Shredded Carrots, and "Goddess" Dressing

May seem a bit girly because of the dressing, but I did enjoy how light and fresh this sandwich one. Light and fresh but very satisfying.

Pinoy Puppie

Topped with Fried Rice and a Sunny Side Up Egg

Although it did sound promising, when I here Pinoy Puppie, I would've imagined a tapsilog type of garlic fried rice but the Pinoy Puppie had a more Chinese Fried Rice tasting topping which actually lacked a bit of flavor for me. It alright... but definitely not Pinoy...

The Tripod

Combination of Bacon, Bleu Cheese, Green Onions, and a Fried Egg

The winner for me! Had a really good balance of something sinful but still having a fresh taste.

 Chili Cheese Fries

Pretty self explanatory.. and actually pretty good!!

It may be blasphemous to some but I actually liked Pauly's a tad big better than Pink's because the toppings are much more tastefully done, with the combinations focused to contributing subdued, burst of flavors rather than just being overloaded and "awesome". Another reason is that Pauly's Franks uses really good franks while Pink's uses good but rather just okay hotdogs in their sandwiches.

So it looks like that we no longer have to take a 4 hour car ride after all.
