or as we call it.. The San Jose Food Truck Festival of America (which serves some bacon)
"Let's go to the San Jose Bacon Festival".. When I heard that, the only word that I actually heard was bacon. Imagine festival solely dedicated to bacon.. you don't say maybe or i'm not sure but rather, when is it and what time are we going?
So as we braved the heat on one of the last weekends of summer.. we found ourselves paying 11 dollars to what turned out to be a big lot filled with food trucks. When I heard Bacon Festival, I imagined a fair filled with games booths with a bacon theme, talks and exhibits showcasing the history of bacon, and of course out of this world bacon dishes may it be bacon ice cream, bacon cupcake, pureed bacon perhaps??
But visions of seeing bacon mascots disappeared when we saw mile law lines towards several food trucks serving you're usual food truck fair made fitting to the festivities with a sprinkling of bacon on top.... yes.. a sprinkling of bacon bits on top.
Although we may have been a little disappointed, we might as well pick a line to join in since we already did pay entrance..
and after 2 hours in line..
Deep Fried Siomai wrapped in Bacon
Shrimp Tacos with Bacon
I must say these shrimp tacos were pretty good
Bacon Bread Pudding
Actually pretty good..but I'll get back to you when I find the bacon..
and finally... this poster brought or day right back up!
MoBowl's version of the Ramen Burger!
Meaty, juicy, and wonderfully greasy.. this find surely made our visit worthwhile
The crisp ramen buns may have been a unique find, but the burger was actually the star of the show for MoBowl actually found away to make the burger taste Asian without being over powering and tasting like it was drenched in teriyaki sauce.
So although the festival may not have been what we expected.. on the brightside, we found MoBowls!
I can't wait to try what else MoBowls has to offer
