Brunch at Spectrum
#uhuhhoney
A family tradition that never gets old is the Christmas brunch with the Antolins. This year though we tried to change things up a bit and that instead of having it in either our house of theirs, we packed up the troops and had brunch at Spectrum.
Although the buffet is filled with your classic brunch goodies such as cold cuts, waffles, and what not.. there is definitely one thing you shouldn't pass on..
The Hakaw
May seem like your typical, but these little babies just melt in your mouth after every bite. Its been a while since I've had hakaw this good here in Manila..
Have an awesome weekend!

Jing Monis Salon's Iced Tea
Aside from getting a really awesome haircut, one of the things I used to look forward to during my monthly visits to Jing Monis Salon in Bellevue was the Iced Tea that they served while you wait and get pampered.
Luckily I was able to have another glass of this refreshing concoction (which actually has a sorta gulaman flavor in it) when I accompanied my sister to get her annual trim (yes.. annual lol). Haven't had this since I moved to San Francisco and boy did I miss this. The kind people of the salon certainly knew that this was my favorite drink since they kept offering me more haha.
Thanks to the very kind people of Jing Monis Salon Bellevue. Til next time!

52°F weather only means one thing..
Ramen Time!!
A steaming hot bowl of bbq ramen with piping hot cup of tea.
And an order of bean sprout salad to cool off the taste buds just a little bit..
I see frequent visits to Ajisen in the future for there's nothing like a lining of ramen fat in your stomach to keep you warm lol!

Lexie's Pumpkin Scones
with Cinnamon Spiced Glaze
My cousins have been baking up quite a storm this past weeks. Who can blame them since there's nothing like standing in front of a hot oven during fall. You get to warm up yourself and at the same time smell something really good (an a snack to eat for later).
Pumpkin, Cinnamon, and a whole bunch of spices spells for the perfect fall afternoon snack.

Costco's BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich
What seemed like a very promising snack option from the snack bar at Costco came a bit short. As we heard of the news about the Costco in our area finally serving the BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich, we immediately got excited and started planning out our Costco excursion.
So after a few rounds at the sampling stations to get our appetites going, we finally made our way to the snack bar.
Smokey, tangy, tender beef brisket topped on a bed a cool coleslaw and sandwiched in between two hamburger buns. I saw the last rather plainly since although the brisket and the coleslaw were very delicous, I was surprised that Costco would served it sandwiched in between cold bread. I mean to begin with I would have already preferred if they used a kaiser bun or even hawaiian bread since the hamburger bun seem a bit too harsh and dense for the brisket, but to be served cold?!
It was worth a try.. but I think I'd stick with my dollar-fifty hotdog sandwich..at least that one's warm..

BOO!
Happy Halloween 2013!
Since I'm not as crafty as my cousins who got extra creative in carving out their pumpkins, I opted to do something I was more familiar with and bake my own pumpkin!
So here's my red velvet cake transformed into a Halloween pumpkin. Not bad if I could say so myself.
Cake and costume in the trunk.. time to head over to my cousins house and let the festivities begin!
