Dinner at Le Monet

 Shine bright like a diamond...

After spending the rest of the day just lounging around our room and watching movies from my hard drive (all the rooms are equipped with a Sony Entertainment  system so we were able to plug our hard drives and usbs directly to the tv), it was just about time to have dinner. So the family headed down to the hotel lobby where their restaurant is located.

 Le Monet Salad

Mixed greens topped with fresh strawberries, candied walnuts, and parmegiano then drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette. A very fresh tasting salad thanks to the tartness that the strawberries give which is then balanced by the heartiness of the smooth, creamy parmegiano and candied walnuts.

Baked Meat Loaf
Served with mashed potatoes and fresh Baguio veggies.

I really liked the idea of serving the meat loaf fillet mignon style which is wrapped with bacon. I would have preferred classic tomato ketchup as a sauce since I think it would have cut through the richness of the thick meat loaf better than a creamy, mushroom gravy.

Beef Bourguignon

Also served with mashed potatoes and Baguio veggies. Le Monet was able to capture the classic French flavours of beef bourguignon and did a really good job with the slow cooking that is needed with this dish since the meat really fell of the bone.

Finally found a new good dinner place in Baguio!
